BtCR- April

This month I have used Kraft and Pale Blue cardstock - I found this idea on Pinterest but I couldn't get my snowflake die positioned correctly - so used a flower punch and then added a diecut snowflake!  I made this in one of my SU card workshops to show you can make a Christmas card without using Xmas paper!
I shown a photo of what I used below - saves me listing it!!!
I am loving the BtCR idea - it is only April and I have made over 25 Xmas cards!!
Dont't forget to pop over to the blog to check out the rest of the DT's work - and wait till you see what I have planned for next month...using some of my goodies I purchased from Ally Pally - lets hope I can get it ti work as the demonstrator made it look soooooo easy!!!

UK Scrappers Spring Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to the UKS Spring Blog Hop! 24 hours of hopping around 26 different blogs and in with the chance of winning some prizes - up for grabs is a £25.00 voucher to use in a sponsor of you choice - how fab would that be!  You should have hopped over from Fay's blog and landed here, if you have landed here directly or get lost - please go back to UKS where you can see the full list of blogs!

How many of you have dabbled in a bit of Tim Holtz style tag making?  What do you do with your tags when you finished making them? Put them on a card, a LO, a mini book, a gift? I am going to show you a couple of LO's with some of my tags I have made.  Now I am no expert at distressing or making tags, its lot of trial and error!  Please go to Tim's blog for demos on his tags!  I am making blue tags for my LO's so I have used the following distress inks - Weathered Wood, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire.
You need a selection of blank tags, stamps, Archival ink, Versamark ink, black and clear embossing powders, a blending tool and be prepared to get very inky fingers. Start distressing the tag with the lighter ink (Weathered Wood) and then blend getting darker as you require (Chipped Sapphire).
I've made 3 small tags for my LO, the first tag I clear embossed the sentiment before I starting the distressing so the embossed sentiment resists the ink.  I stamped the butterfly on acetate and cut it out for a 3D effect, and then added some metal embellishments to finish
This tag has had the 'Post Card' sentiment embossed with black embossing powder, and I sprayed the tag with water to give the mottled look.
This tag I've embossed the stars.
I've cut two photos the same size as the three tags and I inked the edges with Black Soot distress ink
I've used Kraft C/S and stamped a brick wall across the page - I used a ruler, as if you do it free hand your brick wall will slope down (voice of experience!!)
I added some stamped 'splodges'! - not that you will actually see much of this!
Here is my finished LO - with an addition of a title, some bling and ribbon.
Then finished off with a date! These photos are of Sam take at the IOW last June.

This LO started with a cog! I cut using a TH die and the big shot, I coloured the chipboard using Stormy Sky distress ink.
Then I covered it in clear crackle paint.
I started to distress my tags, first with Weathered Wood, Tumbled Glass and then Broken China.
Then I decided to emboss the tag using the TH cogs embossing folder.
The other tag I stamped and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

Both tags were finished off with Black Soot around the edges.
I have again used Kraft C/S which I sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
I stamped lots of stars and added liquid pearls and glitter.
My finished LO complete with tags, title and metal embellishments.
A close up of the two tags.
I need to check the date of this photo but I think it was approx 2003 - Sam was approx 2 yrs old, and Jack 5 yrs old!!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog, I love to read your comments - good luck with the blog hop and please now hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see her fab box tutorial!

CCW April Scrapmap

The CCW April Scrapmap - designed by our fab DT member Sue. Also welcome to out DT blog hop - I am hoping you have hopped over from Sarah's blog
I have gone very pink and scrapped some photos of my gorgeous god-daughter at her prom!
I kept it fairly simple - not too much fussy PP's - just some Prima flowers, a chipboard dress form and of course some bling!!
And of course my page just wouldn't be complete without a butterfly from Kay's Etsy store!
It's now time for you to hop over to Sue's blog for a look at her page.
Don't forget to pop over to the CCW blog and take a look at the rest of the DT's work and give the scrapmap a go!
Thanks for looking.

Leaving to have a baby card

This time a 'Leaving work to have a baby' card! I have used a Saturated Canary image - I think this one is called 'Pickles and Ice-cream' - its so cute!  I have used Prima papers, flowers and bling.  Ribbon is an old (and I may add some of my favourite) wide SU ribbon, as is the sentiment.
Butterfly from Etsy as before!
And a couple of Tim Holtz style tags I made...a yellow Easter one, with clear embossing, bling and a key.
A baby gift tag - all blues as we know it is a boy on the way....a bit of lace, bling and a Prima felt flower.
A little pin, ribbon and token to finish off the tag!

UKS WC - March week 4

March week 4 challenge was to use Primary colours/cluster of embellishments/ribbon or washi tape.
I have used MME Lime Twist papers - I am almost at the end of these papers - they are some of my favourite - I love the colours!  These photos are Jack's passport photos (well the few left over), he had them taken last year before he went skiing with the school.  I have used a lovely Prima swirl (like on many of my pages!)....but look NO butterflies!!  Just buttons and a few handcut balloons from one of the PP's!
This may come as a shock - but I don't actually own much Washi tape (however I'm off to Ally Pally soon so I'm sure this will be rectified!!), so I have used a bit of 'Best of British' ribbon!
I have also done a tiny bit of stamping - this is using my fav Tim Holtz set - Bitty Grunge...I just love it - it is perfect for my 'Boy' pages!

Male Card

I've got myself a permanent job at work at making cards for anyone leaving/celebrating!  At the moment we are having quiet a turnaround of staff with departments merging and temporary contracts only being offered.  I love to make cards for those that appreciate them and most of my work colleagues love to get a 'Sarah' card - however my worse nightmare is when its one of the boys that need a card!! This was for Sim who was leaving us for a better job at Cardiff...so eek I had to do a 'boy' card!!!
So I went grungy.......inky and very Tim Holtz style!!
Thankfully he loved it!  Goodluck in your new job Sim!
Thanks for taking the time to look.
