UKS Weekly Challenges

A couple of Challenge LO's - both using MCS kit - the one below is the November main kit (featuring Bo-Bunny Welcome Home collection).  The challenge was to follow the sketch, use a group of photos, and a book as inspiration (and name the book used).  Photos are taken of us when we went down to the harbour for a walk, the title is of a Danielle Steel book (one of my favourite authors).

This challenge - using November Ltd kit (featuring MME and Glitz design papers).  The challenge was to follow the sketch, make your own blossom, butterflies and faux/real stitching.
The photo is of my gorgeous niece, Lucy.  I have used a Prima butterfly.
The flower I have made using TH tattered flower die, and a Karen Foster burst brad.

Cropping in February

Yesterday I went cropping at Cre8tive - Katie held a 12 hr crop and I managed to get 14 pages done!
Katie set us a challenge to follow a sketch and I used one of MCS kits - the January main kit featuring Fancypants Winterland.  I added Prima Daisies, swirl and ribbon.
The kit came with these fab flowers that could be altered to fit my page - I spritzed them with yellow glimmermist and sparkled them with stickles.
I also completed two of my Basic Grey kits, this is the third year I have had these kits and my fourth year is due to start in March.  Below is February with pictures of my furbabies after treats! The papers featured here are Kissing Booth.
This is October's kit featuring Nordic Holiday collection - but I had to wait for some Christmas photos to complete my pages, these are Sam opening his presents on Christmas morning.
Thanks for looking...and come back tomorrow for more LO's to see!

UKS Challenge LO's

I realised while sorting some pages today that I had not uploaded my latest challenge LO's!
This one was Jan wk 5 challenge - which was to follow the sketch, use new stash and journal.  I have used MCS December main kit featuring Echo Park papers and embellishments.

This LO (a photo of my gorgeous Sister and my Niece) is for the February Monthly challenge - which was to use a colours given to us for inspiration - and these matched perfectly with the MCS January limited Ed kit - featuring Websters Pages.

Finally I have started putting my December Daily album together - all the photos have been printed off and are in the album - it is just waiting for the journalling and embellishments - I am up to day 11 so far, and don't worry I am not going to bore you with all 11 pages - I have just chosen 4!
Day 2 I have use a huge Bo-Bunny snowflake, and the buttons are from Purple Pumpkin.
Day 7 - was Christmas cupcakes - and they make an appearance in my album later on - as this was the first batch of about 4 batch's of cupcakes I made at Christmas!
Day 11 was the perfect page for the Feb wk 1 challenge - A photo of a woman (me), sewing (the word Party on the LO) and an achievement - well that was Pete and I getting out together to go to a Birthday party - and those that know me, know that this is a huge achievement, as having a child with special needs tends to put off babysitters!!!
Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog!
See you again soon.

Birthday Card - UKS challenge Wk 6

UKS card challenge was to use Patterned paper/hot pink and butterflies - its not quiet 'hot' pink but everything else meets the challenge.  You can also see why I don't like doing boy cards, as girl cards are so much more fun to do!
My butterfly was from my stash - I actually think it was my friend Jane that gave this to me years ago!!
The tags and stamps are both Stamping up - Teeny Tiny Wishes and Tag punch, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The card blank is a Papermania Stepper Kraft card, papers are Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby
The image is from Saturated Canary, these are just fab - I was introduced to these images by my Sister who is on the Design team - I love them - please go over to her blog and check out her cards - they are awesome!  I decided to be a bit different and print the image on to SU crumb cake (Kraft to most people!), and I have to say I really love the effect.
All the metal embellies are Tim Holtz.
Prima flower and lots of pearl swirls
The image was coloured in using Prisma pencils - I love the way the white pencil shows on the Kraft card.  All the paper and cardstock has been distressed using TH Distressing inks - Old Paper/Tattered Rose/Seedless Preserves.  The edge of the images has been stamped using the little floral stamp in the Tiny Tags stamp set, with Gathered Twigs ink.

I did spend hours making this card - but the recipient loves my cards so much I knew it would be so appreciated - and that is the joys about making the cards - so they are loved!  Most of you know scrapbooking is my first love - I only really dabble a bit in the card making - just wish there was more hours in the day to do both!

Birthday Boy Card

I really do struggle with boy/male cards - and they become more difficult when they are teenager cards!!
I have used a Papermania A5 Kraft Stepper card blank (gotta get me some more of these!).
I have used my favourite Basic Grey papers - Archiac and stamped image from The Greeting Farm, which I have coloured in with Pro-markers and Prisma pencils.

The papers have been ripped and distressed using Tim Holtz distress inks - Old paper, Rusty Hinge and Walnut stain.

The brick wall and Happy Birthday sentiment are both Magnolia (stamped using distress ink black soot), the rest of the stamps are Tim Holtz Bitty Grunge (love this set for boys!)

I added just a little bit of black bling and the metal embellies are also Tim Holtz.
The numbers are AC Thickers that were plain chipboard and I have inked them.
Thankfully the recipient of this card loved it!

UKS Weekly Challenge - Feb wk 2

UKS weekly challenge - Feb wk 2 - a challenge set by my team in honour of me!
Black and red (as I am a HUGE Twilight fan!!...no really??), some sort of paper engineering or photos of movement (as I am always on the go!), and some stamping on the LO (because I am a Stampin Up demonstrator).

I choose to scrap some pics from Halloween of a very spooky Jack!  I have used MME flocked halloween papers - they are lush!

I have used an old Autumn Leaves swirl stamp - I have stamped with Versamark and then added red glitter to the image, with a bit of Prima bling!
The 'oo' are made using Stampin up treat cups and are filled with Martha Stewart Microbeads.
The alphabet is American Craft thickers.
For every entry that enters the challenge the team have offered to donate 50p per LO to the Autistic Society...so please pop over to UKS and give the challenge a go!
