UKS Simple Recipe and MCS Nov kit

I followed a sketch on UKS Simple Recipe challenge - using the colours pink/brown and grey and I have used the MCS November limited ed kit - featuring MME papers and embellishments by Glitz designs/Prima and Petaloo.  I added some American Craft Thickers.
I splashed the paper with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.
Prima resin bridge, with Prima flowers.

This is a photo of my gorgeous Niece, Amelia - taken at Christmas by Nanny, they all live in Chester so I don't see them often, and I miss them lots - so I stole some photos from Nanny - any excuse to scrap some pink too!!  Watch this space as I will be scrapping my other Niece and Nephew soon too!

Wedding Invitations

Hello - some thing different from me - Wedding invitations!  I was asked by one of the girls at work if I could design her wedding invitations.  I was so pleased she asked me, she gave me the colours of yellow and green and a design of a very expensive wedding invite she had seen.  We abandoned the green as it just wasn't working and went with the gorgeous bright summer yellow and white.  Lindsay liked the yellow lace and buttons and wanted this featured on her invites.
I desiged the invite on the PC and used just a general font on my PC plus Ali Edwards handwriting font that I downloaded.  The cardstock used is Stampin Up Whisper White and Daffodil Delight.
I had real problems getting the right yellow lace - so in the end I used lace from Stampin Up and dyed it yellow using a Dylon Dye.  The buttons were plain white, hand sewn onto the lace.
Flowers were Prima - flowers of the month - November, Chrysanthemum, finished off with a little pearl in the centre.
The ink used to match the ink from my printer was Sahara Sand (and Daffodil Delight) and I used Stampin Up stamp set Pocket Silhouettes.
The RSVP's matched, I used a small flower stamp from an old set I had and made the centre sparkle with a little bit of stickles.

The evening invitation was made to match the main invite using the same stamp set as before
I have to say this is one of my favourite sets and I have used it dozens of times!
both invites have been embossed by hand - a single strip around the edge of the white card.

I stamped the envelopes to match the invites and I printed out the accommodation and directions to the hotel to match the same font as the invites.
I bought some boxes to store the invites and make it all look more professional
I finished off the boxes with a yellow bakers twine and a tag cut out using my nestabilities die.
RSVP's and Invitations

The boxes were finished off with Stampin Up Daffodil delight striped ribbon (my favourite ribbon!) and a little lace bow with the same flower that is on the main invites ( a little bit memorabilia that Lindsay can keep!).  I am hoping to use this ribbon again when I get to do the table plan, and I am also making the place setting cards and tags for the wedding favors -so watch this space!!

I am pleased to say Lindsay loved her invites and I thoroughly enjoyed making them.

Furbabies are One!

Hello - I thought I would post a few pics of the Furbabies as I haven't posted any for a while - and especially as yesterday they were one! They have been in our lives for 9 months and it feels like they have been here forever!
This photo is of Sandi on my nice pile of ironing - 'If I lay flat she won't notice I'm here!'
Dara in my basket of scarves near the front door - 'If I curl up in a ball she won't see me!'
Here are the boys on their Birthday - photo taken on Sunday - in Jack's room (they can hide away from Sam up there!) - they were wrapped in Jack's fleecy blanket while he was playing on his PC, well he certainly wasn't doing any homework!!

My Creative Scrapbook - Oct Kit

As I said yesterday in my blog post I managed to get 9 LO's from this one kit and here is the rest of the LO's.  You can see from the last LO, I was on the last of my kit - but it still worked - the colours were amazing and perfect for autumn/pumpkin photos - but they worked well with garden and sports day photos! This LO below is of my Sam taking at Nursery - his first week there - he was only 3 and what cutie he was!
These photos were taken in 2007 and I am keeping these pages fairly minimal as they are going into a old Creative Memories album (so sad to hear the UK office is closing!).
Sam and Jack helping to pot up marigolds in the garden
and sports day photos - again from 2007.

As you can see I ran out of the letter 'n' but the 'z' works just as well!!

UKS Challenges - Jan Wk 2 and 3

Wk 2 challenge was to use something old/something new and bling.  The new is MCS October kit - featuring Crate papers - the old is the bling - a Prima swirl that has been in my stash for ages.
I love these kits - there is so much stash - with the October kit - I made a total of 9 layouts from the kit - such fantastic value for money.  This is a photo of Jack choosing a pumpkin at Slindon Pumpkin farm back in October.
I split the swirl into two and the rest of the embellishments and fab chipboard chicken wire/mesh is all from the MCS kit.
Wk 3 challenge was to follow the sketch, use one colour and one word title.
I have used my kit as before - but added some orange flowers and a pearl swirl, orange throughout the Layout and 'Tradition' as the one word title.
Pictures from pumpkin farm as before - and although it is a tradition that we go every year - I think this maybe the last year Jack goes as he feel he is too big to be going to the Pumpkin farm.

Mum's 65th Birthday Card

A 65th Birthday card for my Mum - it has been such a long time since I inked up a Magnolia stamp and coloured her in - I seem to have drifted away from them, not because I don't love them as I do - I just don't seem to have the time anymore!
Also when I see my sisters fabby cards - I just think it is easier to get her to make my cards!!!! Just pop over to her blog and take a look, I am so pround to say she has been asked to join another DT - Saturated Canary - the digi images are to die for!!
I am a scrapbooker at heart - the card making is just a little dabbling here and there - so getting a card like this from me - you are highly honoured!! I have used TH papers - which have been distressed with Tattered Rose, the image coloured in with Prisma Pencils, cut out using Nestabilites, and glittered with Stickles.  Ribbon and pins from my stash, flowers given to me by my sister, sentiment and tage punches are Stampin Up.
Thanks for looking - and Mum loved her card and I wish her a very Happy Birthday and Happy Retirement - she so deserves to rest and put her feet up - but if you are wondering where I get my whizzing around from - the apple doesn't fall far from the tree......my Mum never stops!
