A chilly Isle of Wight

Just a few snapshots from our weekend away at the Isle Of Wight - it was chilly, breezy and we had a few showers of rain - lets hope we have better weather when we return in August!!

CCW Scrapmap Challenge - 28th May

This is my take on this week's sketch - and the theme was 'Anything Goes' - I have used a photo of Sam from his sports day at school back in 2007 - he is so focused on running to Mrs Cox (his LSA) who was waiting for him at the finish line - it is one of my favourite photos of him - he looks so happy!

I have used some love papers from Kaisercraft - and I love the quote at the borrom of the paper - I just couldn't cover it up, it was perfect.
My lovely buttons are from Sam at Purple Pumpkin

Please go over to CCW and give this weeks sketch challenge a go.

thanks for taking the time to look

WOYWW - 25th May

Hello - a bit late but after a busy day at work and a bit of crafting in the evening - I just don't get the chance to upload my photos! I have today been working on a couple of projects. A LO based on a sketch by Purple pumpkin and a little invite for a friend at work.

The LO is of Sam back in 2007 with his assigned teaching assistant at school - he was leaving to move to a new teaching post and Sam really didn't understand he was saying goodbye :( I have used Websters papers and embellishments are from Tim Holtz and Purple Pumpkin - it is still work in progress - hopefully I'll finish it by the weekend.
This is a 'Save the date' invite - just a mock up waiting for approval - I just had to get this stamp from Catslife press - they do some fab stamps - I love them all!! I wanted to do something very simple that could easily be mass produced! So I made the tag using m Sizzix tag die and the two scallop circles are cut out using Nestabilites, while the 'Save the date' image is punched out, a little bit of stickles and ribbon and the invite is done.

as for the boys - they are fine -'*yawn* just sooooo bored of this scrapbooking - is it so yesterday, Mummy - we rather sleep!!!!'

Thanks for stopping to take a look and don't forget to pop over to Julia's blog and look at everyones workdesk this week!

I've been cropping!

Yestersday I was cropping with some fab friends at Katies Cre8tive crop - it was lovely to have some time out and catch up with some scrapping and challenges!! I completed 5 LO's (some are future DT LO's - so you'll have to wait to see those!) - but here are the couple you can see!

Joy! - photos of Sam when he went to Waterstones for a Birthday treat - I have used my latest Willow Tree crafts Boy kit - featuring MME papers and I have complete UKS week 3 May challenge - Scrap someone/something special to you (Sam), no more of one of each element (one diecut, one journalling tag, one button, one brad, one piece of PP) and use something green (Green Bazzill Bling!)

I have used this cute button from Purple Pumpkin - I just love Sam's buttons they are lovely!
and American craft thickers which needed a little help with some glue - as AC thickers don't really like to stick to Bazzill Bling.

This LO is some photos of Jack and one of his best friends Amber - taken back in 2007 on a trip to Marwell Zoo (and it rained most of the day!). Again I have fitted it in using a challenge - Distressing (tag has been distressed), more than one flower (yep - there is 2!), more than two lines of journaling (yep - look at tag!), ribbon (blue and pink) and glitter (I have used a glitter AC thicker for the &)

Thanks for looking

CCW Scrapmap - 21st May

This weeks challenge is to take inspiration from an Album sleeve/cover - I chose this cover from the Beach Boys - one of my Dad's favourite groups, so was sort of raised on their music (along with Queen and Status Quo!).

I have used some photos of Sam blowing a Dandelion - a very simple LO for me just some cardstock and ribbon. I have used AC thickers and Websters Pages alphabets and ribbon is from my stash. Don't forget to pop over to CCW to see what the rest of the DT have done and I look forward to seeing your pages!

A closer photo of the left hand page
love the bright colours of these papers, flowers and glazed brads

The right hand page - showing Sam blowing out his candles - something he has only been able to do in the last couple of years.

WOYWW - 11th May

Sorry its late again - but blogger wouldn't let me upload last night :-( I've completed another couple of LO's tonight - one for a future CCW DT project and this one of Jack - he is almost 13 but still loves a box - this box was huge - he could fit into it. I have various bits of stash on my desk - some SU ink, distress ink, AC thickers (my fav alphabets!), and my CM cutting system - I've now had this nearly 8 years and its still the best for cutting circles!

A close up of my almost finished LO - using Willow Tree Crafts - April Oh boy kit.
Thanks for looking and don't forget to pop over to stamping ground and take a look at everyones desk this Wedesday!

Another distressed steampunk LO

I have recently signed up to another kit, this one is from Willow Tree Crafts - My Boy Club - I thought I would give it a go seeing as most of my photos I scrapbook are of my tribe! These were a couple of photos I took of Jack during the school Easter holidays - we went down to the meadow as it was beautiful sunshine and so warm - however the water was freezing - but this never stops Jack going in - a true water baby, if there is water - he has to be in it!

From the kit I have used Bazzill cardstock and Crate papers - Toybox collection and chipboard shapes. I added the 7-gypsies tag and embellishments.
I have used my new TH Gadget Gears die - love it!!!!! I cut out chipboard gears and inked them with distress inks - along with the rest of the papers - I have used Old Paper, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain. I also used Ranger perfect pearls - perfect copper which has been sprayed across the page. I added some TH metal sprocket gears and spinners to the chipboard gears.

I kept the chipboard and used it as a stencil and stenciled a few gears on the page using SU Whisper White craft ink and a sponge dauber. I finished off the LO using TH Bitty Grunge stamps with Walnut Stain ink - to create a dirty muddy splash across the page.

Thanks for taking the time to look!

Basic Grey page-of-the-month kit - 2011

This is my 3rd year with Basic Grey's POTM kit - these kits have been sitting around a while because I just didn't have the time or the photos that 'looked right' to complete the kits. Then like buses - they all come at once - and here are 3 kits completed and the 4th one is in progress! Thanks to Katie at Cre8tive for getting these lovely kits again!

February kit - featuring Hopscotch paper collection - I have used photos of Sam when he went to see some Chicks at a friend's house.

April kit - featuring Hello Luscious paper collection.

I had to adapt this LO a little bit as it was designed for 4 photos and I only had 3 photos from Mothers Day - the pinky papers were perfect for my photos!

photos of me with my boys and my breakfast in bed!

Finally one of my fav LO - of my new babies!!

January Kit - featuring Curio Paper Collection

with photos of Sandi and Dara - these papers were perfect to go with their natural cream colouring - they are just so gorgeous!!

Thanks for looking - come back soon!

Sorry I am a day late - but here was what was on my desk last night and I just didn't get a chance to upload it last night! I am currently working on some more up-to-date photos - and are scrapping some photos of the boys taken during the Easter holidays. I have been using my old Sale-a-bration set from SU - with the owl and my new Owl punch - love this!- on a LO of Sam (top of page), and the rest of the goodies are going to be a LO of Jack playing in the stream - and as you can see the distress inks are out and I have used my new perfect pearls mist - copper on my LO - just going to leave it to dry! I am also going to use a kit I got from Willow Tree Crafts - using Crate papers - I've not used crate papers for a while so I am looking forward to my completed LO.

and the furbabies are not far - they are playing with paper that has fallen on the floor under my desk!!! They are growing fast and settled in well - and full of mischief!!!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Julia's blog and take a look at everyone's workdesk!!
