Thinking of You xxx

One of my very best friends lost her Dad this week - and I can only imagine how she must feel as thankfully my Daddy is still alive and well. It breaks my heart to think he is gone, but he was loved so much and he knew it.
I made a selection of cards for those that lost him which included Mum and Sisters - I hope they like their cards. I have used PP from my stash some of it is Basic Grey and DCVW. I have used Papertrey ink everyday button bits, sentiment is stampin up and ribbons and buttons are from my stash.
A close up of the button flowers

I also found this poem online which I thought was beautiful and perfect.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you and whispered "come to me".
With tearful eyes I watched you and saw you pass away,
although I love you dearly, I could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands a rest,
God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the best.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all, thinking of you and God bless you Ralphie, you will be missed and rest in peace.

Whiff of Joy Wedding Card

This is the first of 6 wedding cards I am making this year - thankfully we are only going to 2 of the weddings, 2 are abroad and 2 are for friends who have asked me to make a wedding card! This is the first one for Justin and Julie who are getting married in June and their wedding colours are Ivory and pink - so I went all for the pink on the card!
I have used one of the Whiff of Joy wedding stamps that has been coloured in with Prisma pencils. I have added a few pics so you can see the details
Roses are from Wild Orchid crafts, the frosted buds have been in my stash for years and the pins are from my stash too.

I have used my Nestabilities dies to cut out my bride and back her in pink A/C cardstock.

The edges of the pink have been stickled!

so have the roses in her bouquet and her veil has been covered with Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds
A close up photo in the sun so you can see it sparkle!
I was also given a blank wooden horse shoe that I have painted and added lots of bling, pearls and ribbon
it was already personalised so I had to go careful with the paint!!
Thanks for looking!

Me @ Thirty Seven

Another LO for my 2009 album - a photo of me on the beach at the Isle of Wight - taken just after my 37th Birthday - this was when I took an early morning stroll down the beach - it was bliss, so quiet - a few joggers and the seagulls - but that was about it! This was a self portrait using my camera timer!
I have used Prima Marketing papers - Tropics and I have used Pencil lines Sketch 184
I have used Primas 'Say it with Pearls' swirl - I love this swirl as it almost has a wave effect (perfect for a beach photo!), the large flowers are Prima Painterly and the metal centres are from my stash - the brads are Papermania. Rest of the flowers are Prima with pearl adhesive centres. 'Me' is naked chipboard that has been inked, sprayed with Glimmer Mist and then topped with Glossy Accents. Other alphabets used include Dovecraft glitter alphabet and Adorn it Carolee's creations - tiny letters

More Wedding Invites!

I was asked by a friend if I would make her wedding invitations. I was told it was a small wedding - only 13 invitations were required and 10 evening invitations. She wanted a beach/sea theme as she was going home to the Channel Islands to get married and she gave me a pot of shells as she wanted me to use them on the invitations.
This is what I came up with - I was thinking about them for weeks and then one Sunday evening I put this together, Karen approved the invite and I have just finished making them.

The sentiment is Stampin Up , along with the close to cocoa ink and the punches.
The Scalloped cards were from Craft Work Cards (I got them when I went to Ally Pally). I have inked the edges with Stampin Up! So Saffron Ink and the ribbon is SU So Saffron ribbon.
The Pins are from a lovely selection at Wild Orchid Crafts
The shells are all the way from the Seychelles and I have stuck them to the invites using Silicon glue (better to be safe than sorry!) - didn't want them falling off!!

The Seashell embossing folder is from Spellbinders Impressabilites - a bit of a fiddle with my Cuttlebug - but I got there in the end.
I was really pleased with the final result and Karen loved them - thankfully I only had to make 13 and I have advised Karen posts them in padded envelopes!
The inside I did on the computer and used my tearing tool and inked the edges of the paper

The evening invitation I have printed directly onto Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin Up! - as it goes through my printer easily and I have stuck Prima flowers and pearls on it and inked the edges so it matches the wedding invite.

The heart stamp and circle sentiment are both SU and the swirl stamp is Inkadinkado. Red ribbon, pin, pearls and beads are from my stash.

Cheating with Lili Of The Valley

As much as I love to colour in my stamped images with working extra hours I am just not having the time! :-( Thanks to Lili of the Valley - I have been doing a little cheating thanks to these A4 die cut design sheets! - I saw them at Ally Pally and fell in love with them - you can get them here and if you buy 10 sheets they are only a £1.00 a sheet for 9 different size images.
This image is called Best Friends - Swing Time. I have used DCWV PP, Ribbon and sentiment is from Stampin Up! Prima Painterly flower, pins, pearls, brad and metal flower all from my stash.

The new BG Page-of-the-month kit!! Available from Katie at Cre8tive - again theses are lovely kits - and at the end of the year we get a BG album!! :-) These take a different format from last year as last years kits were very much a Book of me - this years kits are more general.
This is April's kit (the kits come together in 2's) - but I have used photo's from March (you will see why with the next kit!!) - It has used to BG Kioshi Collection - and I just love the lovely flowers! The photo's are of Sam taken at the Caravan in March - he was busy drawing and I loved the tongue poking out while he was concentrating!

Basic Grey Page-of-the-month - March - BG Origins
This collection of papers have become a firm favourite - along with Archaic!!! - As you can see they were the perfect papers for the photo's of Jack in his Scout uniform for his first St George's Day Parade - he looked so smart!
